We’re officially in the final few stages of our renovation! Somebody shout! We started the first week in July, and it looks like we should be wrapping everything up in the last week of September/first week of October. It’s been long, hard and expensive, but it looks beautiful and Andrew and I have no doubt that this house was a great investment.
One of the last projects we had to tackle this past week was paint. This entire house needed to be painted from top to bottom, including ceilings, walls, and trim. Our original plan was to paint everything ourselves, but we quickly realized we’d be adding at least a month of labor if we did it that way. At this point we are tired and just ready to get in, so we bit the bullet and hired painters.
The pros of hiring a paint crew is obvious — they work so fast and they do a way better job than you could ever do. They did everything in 7 work days, whereas it would have taken us a full week just to tape everything. The major con for hiring a paint crew is the expense. It’s SO expensive.
But in the end, even after our wallets are lighter Andrew and I both agree this investment was way worth it.
I went back and forth on these paint colors, but eventually settled on a palette we love. I wrote a post a few weeks ago about picking paint colors and I even after I was “so sure” of what I wanted I went back to the drawing board a few times. In the end, here’s the palette we went with.
I wish everyone could come over and see the house in person! It looks sooooo good! Andrew and I keep walking around saying, “I can’t believe this is our house.” It’s truly wonderful.
What do you think of the fresh paint? Like the colors I chose? I’d love to know your thoughts! Let me know in the comments below
