I get asked on an almost daily basis how Andrew and I’s renovation is going. The snarky side of me wants to say “Well, if you’d read my blog you’d know how it’s going!” But of course, my mom raised me better, so I don’t say things like that — I only think them: )
But in truth, we are 99.5% done with the projects in this house. There are a few things we have left to patch, and a few spots of touch up paint, but all the big projects are out of the way. One space in our home that has come together nicely is our Entry Way! We LOVE having this space! Our last house had no real entry way, so we enjoy all the extra room and have dance parties in here often.
This entry way has come a very long way though. See Exhibit A:
We ripped out two closets, tore out tile, laid new subfloor, and reframed the Den Entry to make for a much wider, open space. We also had to relocate a vent, and put in all new trim and hardwood floors. We went back and forth on whether or not we wanted to open this space up, and in the end I think it was the perfect decision.
I also decided to go with a statement wallpaper for this smaller space. This is the Tulip Block Print paper I purchased from Brewster Home Fashions. I cannot sing enough praises for this wallpaper and for this company! Really great service, they have sales often, and the paper is top notch!
Now let’s talk about furniture! I’ve mentioned before how River City Trading Post in Jenks, OK is responsible for 80% of my home furnishings, so of course that’s where we went to find our entry table. This table is perfect for the space and our budget! It was only $90! This is where all our mail lives during the week, and it’s nice to have a place to set keys and other important things (like ceramic dogs).
I chose a GORGEOUS canvas print from Belle Botanical to sit atop this table, and guys, it’s my favorite thing ever! They take botanical art and print it on canvas to make it look and feel like a real painting! The quality and colors are outstanding! I will definitely be purchasing from them again in the future!
And if you want the exact print I chose, I don’t blame you! Here’s the link.
As for the future of this Entry Way, I would love to get some art for the large blank wall on the other side, and a rug! The space if definitely big enough to fit a wide runner, or even a 5 x 7 rug. Future decisions will have to be made!
